I have really been slacking when it comes to keeping up with the three posts a week, but things have been so crazy for me. The work load here is certainly ALOT harder than I even imagined an it seems like I barely have time sleep…To be honest, I had even forgotten about the requirements for the P&D hall. I was doing research for my Peace & Conflict Resolution course and came across a video on Burma. Its very dificult to watch but it interesting and really makes you think about the horrible things going on in that area. Please let me know what you think.

Okay. So here we are three weeks into the semester and the hostility on campus is just escalating. There has been too much drama from both upper class-women and the first years…we need to stop it. Now.

Randolph-Macon Woman’s College has always had a reputation of strong woman with a strong sense of community and passion. What I have seen over the past few weeks has led me to sincerely believe that I am glad I am not a Macon Woman, but a Randolph Woman. Coming here I was excited about the traditions, the community & the outstanding individuals who I would be getting a chance to rub elbows with but now…now I’m disappointed. My heart goes out to the upper class women but one needs to know when to hold your tongue and when to speak out.

First years should not be afraid to walk around campus alone at night. We should not feel like we are walking on egg shells with every move we make. Most of all…First years should not be afraid to return to their rooms at night! Due to the hostility on campus so many first years feel the need to transfer, many already have. At the rate things are going, Randolph College will soon return to a woman’s college..but is that really something to be proud of? The men on this campus should not feel so much hate directed towards them that they must transfer.

We are all supposedly adults here but why, if that is true, can we not get along? Why can we not find some way to accept our classmates. Why are problems just escalating rather than deteriorating as the weeks go by?

*sigh* come on…lets do something to make things right.
